In Australia, Hoang frequently appears in all the leading recital series and has performed with the major symphony orchestras of Melbourne, Queensland, and Tasmania. He has made multiple recital appearances overseas at venues in England, the USA and, recently, the 2011 New Zealand International Piano Festival in Auckland where he also gave a masterclass.

Hoang has been a prize winner at the Bösendorfer, Cleveland, Hilton Head and Sydney International Piano Competitions where he was Best Australian Pianist. In addition to his solo and concerto performances, Hoang has served as a jury member of the Piano/Ohio Competition, and performs chamber music in Australia and internationally with his ensemble Melbourne Piano Trio.

Most recently, Hoang studied at the Manhattan School of Music with Marc Silverman where he completed both the Bachelor and Master of Music degrees.
