Biography

Leanne Jin is currently completing a Bachelor of Music Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music studying with Natalia Ricci where she holds the John and Dorothy Vimpani Pianoforte Scholarship.

Previously, Leanne was part of the Rising Stars Program at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where she was awarded the Edward Loong Scholarship. Leanne has performed a recital on Fine Music 102.5 radio and has also played in masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Sa Chen, Ingo Dannhorn, Helen Krizos, Victor Sangiorgio, Valentin Surif and Andzrej Pikul.

In 2017, Leanne was the winner of the Barbara Robinson award (Senior Section) in the NSW Secondary Schools Concerto competition in 2017 performing Prokofiev’s First Piano Concerto with the Kuringhai Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Paul Terracini at the Chatswood Concourse. She was also selected from an international field to participate in the Steps to Mastery International Piano competition held in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Last year, Leanne was invited to perform in the Bowral Autumn Music Festival as a Young Recitalist. She was also the Theme and Variations Emerging Artist winner and recipient of the Theme and Variations Foundation Award.

This year, Leanne will perform in the Canberra International Music Festival as a Young Artist. She will also be playing with the Penrith Symphony Orchestra at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in November. More recently, she was the 2nd Prize winner in the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition and invited to perform in Carnegie Hall in March.
